  • Surry Hills Christmas Fair expression of interest

  • Extend your trading or outdoor dining, host a Christmas-themed pop-up stall, and help bring extra sparkle to the street for the Surry Hills Christmas Fair. We'll set the atmosphere by closing the streets and providing roving performers, portable toilets and outdoor furniture. The event will be supported by a print and digital marketing campaign.

Apply for event space during the road closure

Complete this form to take advantage of the additional space available during the road closure event with activities such as kids workshops, pop-up stalls, outdoor dining or live performances. We’ll assess all applications on a case-by-case basis. Formal approval will be given to successful applicants.

Each business will be responsible for supplying their own equipment and services including furniture, waste management, security and patron management. An expression of interest application must be submitted and approved to be eligible to trade on the street.

    Other ways to get involved

If you’d like to have a temporary food stall we’ll need your temporary food stall approval reference number included in this application.

We’re encouraging businesses to also activate in-store with promotions, cultural programming, product demonstrations and specials. If you’re not applying for outdoor space, no approvals are required. We encourage you to list your activity on What’s On to be part of the Sydney Streets marketing campaign.

  • Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be a business, organisation, community group or government agency with a product or service provided to residents. Businesses within the road closure area will be prioritised. We will consider the mix of businesses and activations within the event to balance the offerings on the day. The distribution of flyers and/or other marketing/promotional collateral material is not permitted and is in line with our guidelines for single-use items. Political, offensive or religious offerings will not be permitted.
