You can use this form to apply for approval to undertake ultra-low impact filming or still photography in the City of Sydney’s local area.

If your project does not strictly meet the criteria listed below you must instead complete the film production and photography application, which requires a minimum lead time of 5 working days.

Please note: The ultra-low impact online application requires a minimum of 2) working days lead time. This application type provides no booking or priority over any space or location. Your approval may not be issued until the last working day before the shoot date. This ensures there are no conflicting bookings for the same space.

If you need to secure approval for a particular location before this time frame, you should instead complete the film production and photography application.

Ultra-low impact filming is defined by these criteria:
- no more than 10 personnel will be on-site
- no more than 1 camera, 1 battery operated light, 1 tripod, 1 hand held reflector, sound and no infrastructure or large props included (no laptops permitted)
- no disruption is caused to the City's stakeholders, retailers or motorists or other events in the vicinity of the activities
- activities are contained to footways or public open space areas only (no vehicular laneways)
- public safety is maintained at the locations at all times during the conduct of the activities
- there are no associated vehicles for the shoot.

I acknowledge and understand that no other equipment/infrastructure whatsoever is permitted other than as declared above. Additional equipment (such as laptop, props, tables, KD’s and so on.) will breach any approval issued. This will result in approval being retracted, fines and all future applications will be suspended for the applicant.
